Cookie Policy

Introduction

Teech! Limited (“Teech!”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies (including pixels, local storage and device identifiers) on our website and services to operate the platform, secure accounts, measure and improve performance, and provide a better user experience. This Cookie Policy explains which cookies we use, why we use them, how we obtain and record consent, and how you can manage your preferences. This policy complements and forms part of our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.

Quick summary

  • We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site (authentication, security, routing).
  • We use analytics cookies to measure and improve the Service (we load analytics via Google Tag Manager > Google Analytics).
  • We do not deploy advertising/marketing cookies for retargeting by default. If we enable marketing cookies, we will explicitly ask for opt-in consent. (Your choice in the cookie banner controls non-essential cookies.)

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies and similar technologies (local storage, pixels, device IDs) may be used for session management, security, analytics, remembering preferences and, if enabled, advertising. Cookies may be first-party (set by this site) or third-party (set by external vendors).

Legal basis and consent

  • Strictly necessary cookies: processed where necessary for performance of a contract and/or by legitimate interest (e.g., secure authentication, load balancing).
  • Non-essential cookies (analytics, marketing, personalization): processed only with your consent where required (EEA/UK/CH). For EU/EEA/UK visitors we will obtain prior opt-in consent for non-essential cookies.

How consent is obtained, recorded and renewed

On first visit a cookie banner will appear offering: Accept all, Reject non-essential, or Manage cookie preferences (granular selection by category and vendor). This banner has no pre-ticked boxes.

We record a timestamped consent record for each user’s cookie choices (anonymous id or account id if logged in, categories accepted/rejected, banner/policy version, timestamp). Consent records are retained for 24 months (or longer if required by law or contractual obligations).

If we introduce new cookie categories or materially change this Policy, we will prompt you to re-confirm preferences via the banner.

Categories of cookies we use

We use the following categories. See the cookie inventory (Section 6) for examples and expiry.

  • Necessary (strictly required): required to operate the site and maintain secure sessions (authentication, CSRF protection, load balancing).
  • Functional / Preference: save UI or language preferences.
  • Analytics / Performance: measure usage and improve the Service (e.g., Google Analytics). Prior consent is required in the EEA/UK before firing these cookies.
  • Marketing / Advertising: used for advertising and retargeting. Not enabled by default; explicit opt-in required.

Third-party vendors, opt-outs and subprocessors

We use third-party vendors for analytics, hosting, payments and email delivery. Where third parties set cookies (for example Google Analytics, Tag Manager), those vendors’ policies govern their processing. You may opt out of Google Analytics via Google’s opt-out tools: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. For other vendors, opt-outs will appear in the cookie preferences dialog or can be requested from us.

Blocking non-essential cookies (technical / implementation)

We will not fire analytics or marketing tags until you provide consent for those categories. Implementations must use a CMP or Tag Manager gating (for WordPress, use a reputable consent plugin that integrates with GTM and blocks tags before consent).

Data retention and anonymization

Analytics raw logs (where stored by vendor) will be subject to vendor retention settings; Teech’s recommended/default retention for analytics user/event data is 26 months (adjustable in GA property settings). Aggregated, de-identified metrics may be retained longer for trend analysis. Consent records: 24 months. Exact retention is available in our DPA on request.

International transfers and safeguards

Processing necessary to operate the Service may occur in Hong Kong and other jurisdictions where our subprocessors operate. For transfers from the EEA/UK we use appropriate safeguards (SCCs or other lawful mechanisms) where required and will make DPA/subprocessor details available to customers on request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, law, or practice. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date and, where appropriate, a re-consent prompt will be presented to users.

How to change or withdraw consent

Change preferences via the cookie preferences dialog (link in page footer) or clear cookies in your browser. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal. Contact info@goteech.io for assistance.

Contact and data subject rights

If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy or our use of cookies, please contact us at info@goteech.io. For EEA/UK residents you may also contact a supervisory authority.
